Ryan Brock
President

Ryan is a Junior in Materials Science Engineering. He grew up in Lisle, IL, and went to Naperville North High School. When he isn't working on one of his many problem sets or going to Slivka events, he can be found either hanging out in his suite playing games or wandering around Slivka. Typically you'll also see him at Sargent twice a day, angrily criticizing the poor service. He also plays in nearly every Slivka intramural sport game. As the President, he is your go-to guy for all things Slivka and is always willing to sit down and talk about what's going on in the building.

Hey! My name’s Kushal (Koo-cial) and I come from the northwest suburbs of Chicago. I’m a sophomore majoring in Mechanical Engineering (and possibly Economics, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, MaDE, or any combination of the above). As a VP, I mostly deal with the internal affairs of Slivka, including things such as points, the housing process, non-resident membership, the constitution, etc., and during my spare time, I enjoy watching cricket, playing Risk, following politics, or participating in philanthropic events. Go ‘Cats!

Tyler Boschert
Treasurer

Tyler Boschert is a member of the Class of 2011, double-majoring in chemical engineering and economics. He is proud to hail from a 500-km^2 agglomeration of strip malls, churches, and Air Force bases assembled at the foot of Pikes Peak, otherwise known as Colorado Springs, Colorado. Aside from his involvement with Slivka, he is an undersecretary-general for Northwestern University Model United Nations (which you should all join) and a member of the Associated Chipotle Addicts of Illinois (which you should all also join). In his spare time, he enjoys reading Reason magazine, conducting research in sabermetrics, watching Richard Dawkins lectures on YouTube, subsisting solely on Chipotle and Mountain Dew, taking multiple showers per day, and finding any excuse to stay up all night. He is an avid fan of Northwestern University athletics and the unfailingly mediocre exploits of the Colorado Rockies. As long as you don't get him started on the Boston Red Sox or the fact that the United States does not use the metric system, he really is a nice guy--you should be friends with him.

Hi! I'm Ukrainian - actually, I'd love to be American soon, but that's out of my hands. Either way, my friends will probably still call me "Foreign" because I'm not too familiar with American movies, and when I get nervous, my accent becomes apparent.
I immigrated to America (Des Plaines, IL) when I was 11, and went to school where I picked up English, driven by the need to communicate with American girls. In case you're wondering, I am not single, as all my hard work at learning English paid off: I've been dating Martha Golonko (she's also in Slivka) for more than four years now, and I'm sure I've found my true love.
Presently, I'm finishing my sophomore year in WCAS at NU, and I'm majoring in ISP, chemistry, and math. I work in a chemistry lab during the week, tutor physics to ISP students, and work as a TA for the Center for Talent Development. During my free time, I love to play - and watch - football (the real one), and I play some board games once in a while. I also love "That's what she said" jokes, and I use them shamelessly at appropriate and inappropriate occasions. And that's just the tip of the iceberg (that's what she said!). |

Hello! Originally from Peoria, Illinois, I am a sophomore in Weinberg, majoring in Biology and minoring in Global Health. I enjoy playing the piano, my favorite flavor of ice cream is pistachio, and my favorite color is blue. Large stuffed animals are my weakness (if you ever get the chance to stop by my room, you would know what I mean). I am studying abroad this summer in Beijing, China, with the Public Health in China program. I am really excited to be Faculty Chair ~ as the new liaison, I hope to foster more relationships between the Fellows and Slivkans!

Michelle was born in 1989 in Englewood, Colorado. Without a doubt you can find Michelle running at SPAC at 6 in the morning every day. She enjoys playing various sports and really wants Slivka to be good at IM sports, more specifically IM softball. Michelle loves motivational quotes, one of her favorites being “There are no traffic jams on the extra mile”. If not running, she is probably studying. Michelle is a freshman in McCormick studying biomedical engineering with the hopes of going to medical school.

My name is Martha and I entered WCAS last fall. I haven't officially decided what I'm going to study yet, especially since I've changed my mind from chemistry to history to economics consistently over the summer, but I believe I will finally dedicate myself to mathematics. I eventually aspire to obtain a Master's in Education and teach at the high school level.
Regarding my non-academic life, I was born in Chicago and now reside twenty minutes from Northwestern in the suburbs. My family is Polish, which means that my parents always make sure I either have enough pierogi or nalesniki to eat or enough cleaning supplies on my closet shelf. I love animals and I consistently talk about my dog, Abby, who you will hear about nearly every time you speak to me. Apart from studying, I work with kids at the Center for Talent Development, organize philanthropic events, and often spend weekends at home with my family. Recently I've developed an interest in Russian literature, travel, and my iPod, which I now can't live without---even though I only have ten songs programmed onto it. Other than that, when in Slivka, you can find me watching episodes of "The Office" or around anyone with a good sense of humor, which doesn't include people who search for any opportunity to blurt out "That's what she said!" even to a phrase as ordinary as "Do you want tea?" (Just kidding Alex, this one was for you).

John Regan
Facilities Chair

Born in 1988 in a Chicago suburb, John spent his early years in the peaceful bliss of ignorance. Life was good in those days, the economy was running along smoothly and people were happy. These were the best of times and not the worst of times. Then in 1999 John moved to Lemont. Things really didn't change at all for John especially considering he only moved 5 miles. He finished grade school and middle school and decided to not go to the public high school. Instead he went to a private Catholic high school named Montini. There John played football and baseball. He finished high school and decided to go to Northwestern. This is where he is now. He is also a biomedical engineer. He is also the facilities director of Slivka. He also does not like to write biographies.

Alex Zylman
IT Chair

You were born on December 11, 1989 in suburban Waconia, Minnesota and grew up in Mound, Minnesota - a town of 9,000 people. Throughout your childhood and adolescence, you've played pretty much every common sport: basketball, baseball, soccer, and hockey. You're a Computer Engineer with a quirky, often outlandish and offensive, sense of humor who enjoys more or less everything but the sports you played so much of as a kid. You're Slivka's IT chair and you enjoy your job; in fact, you enjoy more or less everything about computers. You've been using them for this and that since you were just a little kid, frequenting online chat rooms, message boards, and flash games. Since then, you've progressed to online chat rooms, message boards, and MMORPGs. Needless to say, you haven't matured much since you were a wee little lad... you are Alex Zylman.
