Arthur Schmidt is the current Master of Slivka. Some of his responsibilities include providing intellectual and academic leadership to Slivka, overseeing the academic offerings and activities sponsored by the college, facilitating student-initiated programming, and recruiting and serving as liaison to the Fellows of the college.
Arthur is the Lecture Demonstrator for the Department of Physics & Astronomy and the Director of Undergraduate Laboratories. He has taught introductory College Physics (Phyx 130-1,2,3) in the Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences for five years and has lectured in the Summer Session and in the School of Continuing Studies (Northwestern's adult education school) for 16 years. He is also the faculty adviser for the Society of Physics Students and has served as a freshman adviser. He came to Northwestern in 1984, following teaching appointments at Lake Forest College, Indiana University, the University of Notre Dame, and LaLumiere High School (LaPorte, Indiana). He is currently active in Illinois Project Physics (ISPP), an association that brings together university and high-school physics teachers to share information on the latest laboratory equipment and techniques for presenting lecture demonstrations.

Owen Priest is the current Associate Master of Slivka. He shares some of the Master's organizational responsibilities and plays a key role in the recruitment of Fellows.
Owen is the director of undergraduate organic laboratories in the Chemistry Department. He is responsible for overseeing the curriculum and laboratory program for all Northwestern students who take organic chemistry. He also teaches an advanced course in organic synthesis for chemistry majors. He came to Northwestern after teaching at Grinnell College in Iowa and Hobart and William Smith Colleges in upstate New York. He enjoys acting and singing.

Jennifer Hobbs is the current Assistant Master of Slivka. As assistant master some of her responsibilities include building relationships with students and faculty, working with the Master to ensure that Fellows are actively engaged in the life of the college, attending meetings, writing reports, participating in college events, interacting and dining regularly with students and faculty.
Jennifer Hobbs is a second year graduate student working on her PhD in physics. Her research is in High Energy Physics and she works on the MINERvA experiment at Fermilab National Accelerator in Batavia, IL. Jennifer also completed her undergraduate work at Northwestern, majoring in the Integrated Science Program, Physics, and Mathematics. As an undergraduate, she lived in Slivka all four years serving on the Academic Committee for two years, and as the Secretary of Faculty Affairs her senior year. She also competed on the Northwestern Fencing team her junior and senior years (and continues to fence on the club team), and has sung with the University Chorus since her freshmen year. Finally, she enjoys playing with her dog Moose (a 2 year old Cattle Dog- Spaniel Mix), who enjoys chasing squirrels and attending Slivka IM Football games and BBQs.
