Prof. Kalogera from the department of Physics and Astronomy came to Slivka to tell us a little bit about the subject of her research: black holes. She described, using brief movies, how black holes form, and how we can tell that they exist. The subject of black holes and Prof. Kalogera's lucid explanations made for a great fireside: many Slivkans even stayed for an extra thirty minutes after the fireside was over to ask questions. |

Slivkans gathered outside of Slivka to enjoy some classic s'mores over a nice warm fire. There were mishaps along the way, including fallen marshmallows in the fire and flaming sticks, but overall everyone enjoyed taking a break from studying to eat some munchies. |

Earlier tonight, the IT Committee gave a fireside on general computer upkeep covering topics such as antivirus, browser choice, the useful options in the control panel, and other tools you can use to keep your computer running quickly, safely, and reliably. |

Last Saturday, Slivka had a counter strike party. Armed with laptops, Counter Strike 1.6 and an iron will roughly 25 Slivkans got together to headshot for three hours. |
