Congratulations are in order!
At the 2009 RCB Field Day, we managed to take first place in the master's mile, the human foosball tournament, and the penny war. Onlookers were amazed at our 3:02 master's mile time, and impressed by Steve Guerin's assault on other team's goalies, scoring all of our foosball team's goals. Several Slivkans were quoted as saying they dumped their entire piggy banks into Slivka's penny war jar, all in the hopes of winning the chance to pelt me with water balloons. And pelt me they did. Then to my misfortune, CCS won the penny war among the small res colleges, and they also pelted me. Nobody ever said being President would be easy...
Though we had an impressive showing, it wasn't enough to beat out CCS, who took 2nd place in both the master's mile and human foosball, and 1st place in attendance and spirit (we took 3rd in attendance and 2nd in spirit, though!). Coming in at 2nd place overall, and having more than double the points of the 3rd place team, I think we showed everyone why Slivka is one of the best RC's around! |

The rain doesn't stop Slivka from having a BBQ. With the help of some dedicated residents, we got the grill fired up and managed to have a successful BBQ despite the weather looking grim. We were lucky enough to have the rain stop exactly when we needed it to. Residents came outside and ate various grilled foods and enjoyed chips and drinks inside. |

Thank you to all the Slivkans who participated in Relay for Life last night. Alex Zhukhovitskiy, Jay Chung, Olivia Lui, Michael Tremmel, Alan Wong, and myself all spent hours at SPAC that brought a month's worth of fundraising for the American Cancer Society to an end. Along with a visit by some other Slivkans, we had a long night full of entertainment and fun---all while fighting cancer! Congratulations to everyone who made it till 6 am! |

As the facilities director I get to go out and buy the fun stuff, like printer ink, TV remotes, soap, and... Softballs. So I decided that I was going to go out and get them while I was at home for the weekend. I was all prepared to buy the softballs at Dick's on Saturday, I even had a tax exempt form for that day and everything. So 9:00 PM Saturday night I remembered that I was supposed to go get them. I raced to the computer and found ou that Dick's closed at 9:30. Perfect, I grabbed my wallet, got in the car and pulled out of the garage. Then I ran back in and got the tax exempt form. Then I got back in the car and raced to the store.
